Synopsis
Clover was born without her family’s special power.
Because she had no power, she was sent to live with her mother’s family, where she grew up under the constant mistreatment of her mean aunt and cousin.
“Clover, I’m okay.”
Even so, Clover never let herself become discouraged.
Because someday, her father would come to take her home.
[August 2, clear weather. Aunt got angry again. She told me not to tell Dad.]
So Clover kept a diary in preparation for that day, and she diligently practiced her power so she could show it to her father when he finally came.
But…
“Dad, when are you coming?”
As the mistreatment from her mother’s family grew worse day by day, her father still didn’t come, even after she had written ten pages in her diary.
Clover had firmly believed that her father would come for her someday. But just when she began to wonder if she had truly been abandoned…
“Clover, Daddy’s here.”
Her father appeared.
And he came looking exactly the way Clover had always wished for.There was something her mean aunt always told Clover.
Because Clover was useless and her power was insignificant, she would surely be hated even after returning home.
But…
“Even if you didn’t have any power, I would have loved you just the same. Because you’re my daughter.”
She had a father who was far kinder and gentler than Clover had ever expected.
“Little Pea, do you want to sit next to me? Should Big Brother feed you?”
“My little sister, I’ve been waiting a very long time for the day I could meet you.”
She had two older brothers who warmly welcomed Clover home.
“Clover, no one can lay a hand on you. Not as long as I’m here.”
And…
She even had an older sister who cherished and loved Clover dearly, although she might have been just a little overprotective.
Surrounded by her loving family, Clover thought:
Maybe her aunt had been wrong after all!Remember, Clover.
