Synopsis
“My wife, Edellis. I’ve come to keep my promise.”
Edellis Brill, the only daughter of Count Brill, discovers a strange, glittering book in her study—as if it were deliberately waiting for her to find it.
When she opens the book, she sees countless scenes unfold before her eyes.
And among those scenes, she sees herself.
She watches in horror as she is stabbed by the Emperor’s sword, coughing up blood as she dies a gruesome death.
Only then does Edellis realize the truth.
She is the Empress in the book who is destined to be brutally killed by the Emperor’s sword.
Determined to change her future, Edellis purchases one of the story’s key characters from the gladiator arena: Rehan, a beautiful young gladiator.
But perhaps fate cannot be defied so easily.
At her coming-of-age ceremony, Edellis catches the Emperor’s attention and becomes a candidate to become his Empress.
Desperate to escape the Emperor, Edellis and Rehan devise a plan to deceive everyone by making it appear as though she has lost her virginity.
Once their plan succeeds, Rehan leaves Edellis’s side.
Edellis believes she has finally changed her future.
But seven years later, a marriage proposal arrives from the newly crowned Emperor.
“My wife, Edellis. I’ve come to keep my promise.”
The man Edellis once believed would protect her from the Emperor’s blade has returned as the Emperor himself—the very man now pointing that blade at her heart.
Edellis tries to escape, but Rehan’s obsession only grows stronger now that he has become Emperor…
“Do you really think I’ll let you go? Go ahead and try. But if you don’t mind me refusing to release you from my arms the next time I catch you.”
Stop being obsessed with me and just divorce me!
