Prologue
“Everything I’m about to do is something you brought upon yourself.”
Her husband’s words sounded like a warning.
Brought upon yourself.
He was right.
The moment Ina stood before him again, the man who had once been her husband, she had accepted the price she would have to pay.
His deep, steady voice made her whole body tremble. No matter how hard she tried to calm herself, she couldn’t stop shaking.
It was the first time in her life she had ever been held in a man’s arms.
Ironically, that first man was Dohyeon, her former husband… and now, her husband once again.
Perhaps that was why her body refused to obey her.
Slowly, her husband untied the bathrobe wrapped around her slender body. Instinctively, Ina crossed her arms over her chest to cover herself.
At that moment, she regretted listening to him when he had told her not to wear any underwear beneath the robe because she would only have to take it off anyway.
“Move your hands.”
Speaking in a calm, even tone, he lifted his chin slightly. His gaze wandered over her body as if examining every inch of it while patiently waiting for her to obey.
He didn’t rush her.
If anything, that relaxed, unhurried gaze made her body burn even hotter.
“…Ha…”
She let out a shallow breath before slowly lowering her arms.
An unbearable heat spread through every part of her body.
Perhaps it was because of the unmistakable desire she saw in her husband’s eyes.
Her full breasts were finally exposed before him.
She was completely defenseless.
Nothing to cover herself with.
Nothing to hide behind.
She couldn’t run away.
She couldn’t even hide.
Standing completely naked, Ina trembled beneath her husband’s unwavering stare.
The truth was…
She didn’t want to run.
His direct, unabashed gaze left her feeling exposed, yet she couldn’t look away.
Even without lowering her eyes, she could sense his arousal at the edge of her vision.
Seeing it alone was overwhelming.
It was the first time she had ever seen him like this.
She couldn’t even begin to describe how it felt.
Just imagining that he would show her no mercy made her mouth go dry.
“Can you do it?”
Tilting his head slightly, he asked.
Then he let out a self-mocking laugh and slowly shook his head.
“What am I even expecting from a girl as inexperienced as you?”
Knowing exactly what he meant, Ina nodded without hesitation.
Perhaps it was the word inexperienced that had pricked her pride.
“I… I can.”
“No… I will.”
It was strange.
Although they had ended a two-year marriage and reunited a year later…
Today was the first time she had ever truly seen him.
Their first marriage had been nothing more than a political arrangement.
There had never been any reason for them to share either their bodies or their hearts.
