Get Pregnant First, Then Get Married, Then Fall in Love?
After deciding to stay, Yu Wei occasionally messaged Qiu Lei to ask about Yu Song’s situation at school.
Yu Song hadn’t caused any trouble lately, but he was holding grudges. Living in the same dorm with Shi Ciyan and Lin Yuchi, he hadn’t said a single word to them since the first day of registration. In the dorm, he treated them like air.

Since he had time on Saturday, he decided to take them out for a proper meal to improve their living conditions.

“You guys have classes Monday to Friday, right? I’ll treat you again next week.”
Lin Yuchi and Shi Ciyan nodded. Yu Song’s expression darkened again.
“Why are we coming again?”
While they were busy with school and Yu Wei with work, this was the best way he could think of to build goodwill. Eat together once a week, spend some time together, and over time they would naturally develop positive feelings. When the ending came, they might show mercy because of shared meals.
“I might not be able to come next week,” Qiu Lei, who had been quiet all along, suddenly said. “I need to go home and accompany my wife to a prenatal checkup.”

Yu Wei nearly choked on his food. “Wait—how old are you?”
They were all just eighteen or nineteen, maybe twenty at most. And he already had a wife and child?
Yu Song was also stunned, mouth hanging open.

“I’m not married yet,” Qiu Lei said shyly. “We only found out she was pregnant last week. We’re planning to get engaged soon.”
“She’s my tutor. I chased her for over half a year. She’s an Omega.”

Betas have difficulty reproducing, but Omegas have strong fertility. Beta-Omega pairings are much more likely to conceive than Beta-Beta ones.
Yu Wei didn’t understand the technical details, but the others clearly did. Even Shi Ciyan, who hadn’t been paying attention, looked up.
“You two aren’t together yet?”

“How is that a man…?”
The person in the photo had delicate features, but short hair, with bangs pinned aside by a pink butterfly hair clip. Something felt off.

He turned around.
Two tall men stood behind him, expressionless.
“Mr. Lin has invited you for a drink.”
They said “invited,” but their faces looked anything but friendly. Before Yu Wei could refuse, they shoved him into the back seat of a nearby car.
The driver immediately started the car and left the parking lot without hesitation.
It didn’t feel like a kidnapping.
But it also didn’t feel like not a kidnapping.
“Where are you taking me?” Yu Wei asked, not pretending to be fearless. In his past life he had been poor and often watched shows about wealthy people being kidnapped for money.
Now that he was rich, he might actually be a target.
“Mr. Lin asked us to invite you,” one of them said.

The car sped through the city streets as if it were flying.

Yu Wei finally confirmed it—it really was Lin Zhe Rui who had “invited” him.

Or maybe… Lin Zhe Rui just lived there.
