Chapter 7
Birds of a Feather
āSo from the very beginning, the reason you helped me was just toā¦ā
Lin Suian could not continue.
Those filthy words were impossible to say out loud.
āYes. Exactly what youāre thinking.ā
Qin You no longer bothered explaining himself.
He lit a cigarette and slowly exhaled smoke while speaking calmly, as though he had planned this long ago and was trying to persuade him.
āSui Sui, Mr. Shi is handsome, rich, and powerful. Heās only two or three years older than you too. Youāre both young people, so youāll get along well. Whatās so bad about staying with him?ā
In the past, Lin Suian thought his godfather called him āSui Suiā because they were close.
But nowā
That nickname felt like worms crawling into his flesh and blood.
Painful. Disgusting.
āBut from beginning to end⦠you never once asked whether I was willing.ā
His desperate shouting only earned Qin Youās calm response.
āSui Sui, from the day you chose to leave with me, this ending was already decided.ā
There was no such thing as kindness without reason.
Qin You had taken Lin Suian in and paid his motherās expensive medical bills because he had planned everything from the start.
Privately, Qin You was nothing like the kind-hearted philanthropist people believed him to be.
On the contraryā
He was a greedy businessman who worshipped money above all else.
He was good at using his gentle appearance and flawless methods to target children who were beautiful, talented, and academically outstanding but had absolutely no background or support.
After raising them until adulthood, he would then find excuses to sell them off like commodities.
Recently, Qin You had started a project and wanted investment money.
And the man named Shi Yushen was one of the wealthy targets he had carefully selected.
Young.
Rich.
Not yet as cunning as older businessmen.
Recently placed in charge of his familyās massive company.
Never dated before.
Didnāt like women.
After learning enough about his preferences, Qin You mercilessly pushed Lin Suian forward to test him.
Unexpectedlyā
It worked perfectly.
At this moment, Lin Suian suddenly knelt in front of him.
Like a believer praying to a god, he begged desperately, his voice already ruined from crying.
āGodfather, Iām begging you⦠please donāt make me do this, okay?ā
āI donāt like men. I donāt want to sell myself.ā
No matter how much Lin Suian begged, it was useless.
How could Qin You possibly stop halfway now?
He had always been ruthless and would never give up until he achieved his goal.
The smile disappeared from his face.
Coldly looking down at Lin Suian, he threatened him calmly.
āYour motherās medical bills are due this month.ā
āShould I throw her out onto the streets and let her fend for herself⦠or continue letting her stay in the hospital for treatment?ā
It felt as though a blade had lodged itself inside Lin Suianās throat, twisting his flesh apart until he could no longer make a sound.
All the words he wanted to say were cut off completely.
Seeing him fall silent, Qin You continued speaking cruelly, smiling darkly.
āThere are homeless people and scavengers all over the streets nowadays. Your mother is already weak and sick. If something happens to her, or she catches another illness, by then nobody will even be able to save her.ā
Hearing Qin Youās threatsā
Lin Suian was truly afraid.
Lin Suian had nothing.
No power.
No influence.
For someone like Qin You, crushing him would be as easy as lifting a finger.
Qin You finally lost his patience.
Holding a cigarette between his fingers, he grabbed Lin Suianās face and asked emotionlessly,
āSui Sui, have you decided?ā
The burning cigarette brushed against his skin.
Fear rose inside Lin Suianās heart.
āIām not forcing you. Choose for yourself.ā
Qin You slowly threw out the ultimatum.
āStay with Shi Yushen⦠or go back to the miserable life you had before.ā
