Chapter – 71
Seeing Ning Xuechu come in, Su Ya quietly closed the door and let out a breath.
“Young Aunt is really fierce.”
“She just doesn’t want my sister to marry a normal Omega and be laughed at,” Ning Xuechu explained.
Between Ning Xun and Su Ya, she stood on Ning Xun’s side.
She didn’t like that Ning Xun made things difficult for An Jianqing. But she hoped Ning Xun could drive Su Ya away.
Hearing that, Su Ya felt a little uncomfortable.
“You’re also a normal Omega. I thought you were different from them. Turns out you look down on yourself too.”
Ning Xuechu did not reply. She sat down and played with the leaves of a potted plant beside her. It was clear she did not want to talk.
Su Ya was ignored again. She frowned, moved to sit somewhere else, and rested her chin on her hand, looking thoughtful.
After a while, she looked at Ning Xuechu and said,
“Your parents are very good people. They never discriminate against people with lower levels. Jianqing is the same. Even though you differentiated into a normal Omega, she treats you like her own younger sister and does everything she can to be good to you.”
Ning Xuechu did not like the words “younger sister” at all. She simply ignored her.
Su Ya curled her lips and paused for a moment before speaking again.
“Both your parents are A+ level Alphas. Logically, their child should at least be A+ level too. How did you become a normal Omega? Could there be some problem? My parents are professors who research ABO. I also know a little. Do you want me to check for you?”
Ning Xuechu’s heart jumped. Her fingers accidentally snapped off a leaf.
She calmly held the leaf in her hand and played with it.
“No need. The fact that I am the Ning family’s daughter has already been verified. There’s no need for you to meddle.”
“That’s not what I meant!” Su Ya said, a little angry.
She only wanted to kindly help Ning Xuechu see if there was a problem. But her words were misunderstood as questioning her identity.
If this person were not the Ning couple’s daughter, she would not bother at all.
Su Ya stopped talking. She leaned back comfortably and looked at the scenery outside.
The sky gradually darkened. It was already eight o’clock, yet no one had come upstairs to call them for dinner.
Su Ya touched her growling stomach, sat up, and picked up an orange from the table, slowly peeling it.
The door was pushed open, revealing An Jianqing’s tall figure.
Ning Xuechu’s eyes lit up. She quickly walked over first and smiled.
“Sister, has everyone arrived?”
“Second Uncle had something urgent and couldn’t come. Young Aunt also left just now because of something. Tonight it’s just the three of us eating together,” An Jianqing said.
Her expression was calm. She was not angry or dissatisfied because those people did not show up.
Ning Xuechu felt something strange, but she could not tell what it was.
The three of them sat at the table. An Jianqing sat in the main seat, while Ning Xuechu and Su Ya sat on both sides.
Ning Xuechu quietly moved her chair a little closer to An Jianqing.
Su Ya was too hungry to notice such small details.
Aunt Lian reheated the dishes and brought them back to the table. She couldn’t help but complain,
“They said they would all come today, but in the end the dishes got cold.”
“Don’t mind them,” An Jianqing said, picking up her chopsticks first.
Actually, this was better. It saved a lot of trouble. Even just dealing with Ning Xun alone made her feel tired.
If they had all come, she would have been even more exhausted.
And the words she said to Ning Xun—Ning Xun would probably tell Ning Yan everything.
This way, those people would understand her attitude.
“I’m starving to death,” Su Ya said bluntly. She started eating with her head lowered, completely focused.
Ning Xuechu glanced at her. The strange feeling in her heart grew stronger.
After dinner, An Jianqing returned upstairs. Su Ya walked around the villa to look around.
Ning Xuechu sat in the living room, eating fruit after the meal.
Aunt Lian cleaned the table and couldn’t help muttering,
“Such an important matter for Miss An, yet they didn’t come at all. They don’t respect Miss An in the slightest. Miss An is too kind. She suffered such a big grievance but didn’t say a word.”
Ning Xuechu listened quietly.
“Miss Su came for the first time and ran into something like this. She probably feels bad too. Miss Ning, go comfort Miss An, and also comfort Miss Su,” Aunt Lian said softly.
Ning Xuechu did not understand.
“Why comfort her? I think she ate quite happily. She doesn’t look upset at all.”
Aunt Lian shook her head in disapproval. After a pause, she sighed.
“Miss An is strange too. She clearly brought her girlfriend home, but she left her aside and went upstairs by herself.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she looked up unintentionally and saw An Jianqing standing on the second floor. She was startled and quickly carried the dishes into the kitchen.
Ning Xuechu stood up and showed a pure smile.
“Sister, what’s wrong?”
“Where did Xiao Ya go?” An Jianqing asked.
“She went outside for a walk. Sister, are you going to look for her?” Ning Xuechu asked. As soon as she said it, her heart felt a little uncomfortable.
“Mm.” An Jianqing nodded and went downstairs.
She had heard Aunt Lian’s words.
Her behavior tonight indeed did not match that of a qualified “girlfriend.” She had focused too much on dealing with Ning Xun and ignored the role she was playing. No wonder Aunt Lian became suspicious.
An Jianqing went out and walked for a while before finding Su Ya.
Su Ya was squatting on the ground, watching ants move their nest. When she saw An Jianqing standing in front of her, she looked up.
“Has your sister gone to sleep?”
An Jianqing’s brows slightly knitted.
“Why are you asking that?”
Su Ya sighed and stood up. She looked around secretly, then pulled An Jianqing behind a tree and spoke in a low voice,
“I feel like your sister doesn’t like me.”
“Isn’t Xuechu very enthusiastic toward you? When you asked her to help you carry things, she did,” An Jianqing frowned and subconsciously defended her.
Su Ya pressed her lips together. Her expression was complicated. She organized her words in her mind before speaking.
“I know your Young Aunt doesn’t like me. And your sister doesn’t like me either. But I feel that these two kinds of dislike are different.”
