Chapter 26
The room’s door was slightly open.
If she listened carefully, she could hear voices, and there was no telling whether a servant or, like last time, Daniel would suddenly walk in. Not to mention that there were knights stationed a little farther away.
If someone saw her in such an embarrassing state…
Touching her burning cheeks with both hands, she realized just how hot they were.
“Um, well, y-yes. I, I have Crown Princess education, so I must go soon…”
“That is true. If you are too slow, someone might come to fetch you.”
William looked very amused.
Apparently, he had no intention of letting her off his lap until she finished tying his hair.
In a test of patience, she always lost to him.
She knew from past experience that it would be faster to just quickly tie his hair and get down from his lap to escape this situation.
With no other choice, she braced herself and cautiously reached toward his golden hair.
His long, silky blond hair was very soft to the touch.
But his face was right in front of her, watching her intently.
Too close…
It made the task unbearably difficult.
“Um, well, c-could you turn your face a little sideways? It’s hard to tie it from the front.”
Relieved that he obediently turned his face aside, she continued.
He had not asked her to tie it neatly.
Anything was fine as long as it was tied.
Telling herself that, she gathered the golden hair into a roughly single bundle and tied it with the ribbon she had bought for him.
William happily said, “Thank you,” and patted her head.
Finally being released from William’s lap, she felt relieved that the “humiliating play” was over.
A servant came to escort her just in time.
That was close. If she had been even a little slower, someone would have seen that embarrassing scene.
The servant was momentarily surprised to see the usually icy prince looking very pleased, but quickly returned to a neutral expression and guided Lilliana to the room where Crown Princess education was held.
To be honest, today’s Crown Princess education did not enter Lilliana’s head at all.
She was repeatedly told to concentrate.
It was all because Prince William’s humiliation play had been far too strong an impact.
She mentally blamed him for everything and silently prayed that he would trip over nothing.
And even the royal castle dinner time, which Lilliana usually looked forward to, turned into another embarrassing moment because of Third Prince José’s sharp remark.
“Will, did you have that kind of hair ribbon?”
The king and everyone else focused their attention on William’s hair ribbon.
His hair, which was usually neatly tied, was now loosely and casually bound, which probably felt a little out of place.
William proudly turned his face at an angle, showing it off to everyone.
“Lilliana bought it for me and tied it for me.”
When William said this, everyone’s gaze turned to Lilliana.
Strictly speaking, it was not “tied for me” but “forced me to let her tie it.”
Remembering that humiliating play, Lilliana blushed deeply and lowered her head.
Everyone who didn’t know what had actually happened looked at her fondly, while Lilliana trembled in embarrassment.
‘Can I go home now? (crying)’
But she firmly ate her dessert.
