Chapter 04

It had only been a few days since her last visit, but as soon as she got out of the car, the servants of the Mo family all greeted her with a “Young Madam.”

Hearing that, Su Li’s heart trembled slightly. She walked into the mansion somewhat unnaturally.

In the vast living room, Mo Xingyuan and Madam Mo were sitting together. Madam Mo’s eyes were gentle and loving as she looked at Mo Xingyuan, with a hint of concern.

Su Li felt a pang of envy at such a mother-son relationship.

In her own memories, such warm scenes were very faint.

“Ah Li, come sit here,” Madam Mo said softly, beckoning her over.

Seeing Madam Mo again and hearing her call her like that, Su Li felt as if she was seeing her own mother smiling and calling her.

She set aside the sadness in her heart and walked over.

Madam Mo guided her to sit beside Mo Xingyuan.

Su Li knew how much Mo Xingyuan disliked her, but under Madam Mo’s gaze, she smiled and sat down beside him.

Madam Mo turned slightly to look at the two of them, her eyes full of joy. “You two really are a perfect match, both talented and beautiful.”

Mo Xingyuan’s face remained cold.

Su Li smiled a little shyly.

“Xingyuan, Ah Li is a good girl. She’s your wife now, so you must treat her well.”

Mo Xingyuan showed no expression.

Madam Mo then looked at Su Li again, stood up, and extended her hand to her.

Su Li hurriedly stood and took her hand.

Madam Mo affectionately linked her arm with Su Li’s and began leading her upstairs as she spoke.

Once the door was closed, Madam Mo let go of her hand and asked gently but distantly, “You’re not living with Xingyuan?”

Su Li shook her head.

“How can that be?” Madam Mo frowned. “If you don’t live together, how will you build a relationship?”

Su Li thought to herself—it’s not about building a relationship, she just wants them to live together to have children.

The Mo family is anxious to find him a partner now, isn’t it just to ensure heirs?

Knowing this, she still explained softly, “I became his wife without him knowing, so he definitely hasn’t accepted me yet. If I just moved in with him, it would only make him dislike me.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll do my best,” Su Li coaxed Madam Mo. “Since I married him, of course I want to live well, have children for him, and make our family complete.”

Su Li’s attitude pleased Madam Mo somewhat.

Patting Su Li gently on the shoulder, she said, “You’re a sensible girl. As long as you provide heirs for the Mo family, we won’t treat you unfairly.”

Su Li smiled obediently.

“Tonight, you’ll stay in the old residence,” Madam Mo decided immediately.

Su Li’s smile stiffened.

Madam Mo smiled sweetly, as if she hadn’t noticed the awkwardness on her face. “Opportunities are made, so you must work hard.”

Su Li forced a smile, tugging slightly at the corners of her mouth.

But soon, her smile relaxed a little.

Mo Xingyuan definitely wouldn’t go along with this arrangement.

After dinner, Su Li waited for Mo Xingyuan to leave.

Unexpectedly, he got up and went upstairs.

Su Li frowned slightly.

After the servants brought out the fruit, Madam Mo smiled and handed it to Su Li. “Take the fruit upstairs and eat it with Xingyuan.”

Su Li obediently took it and said, “Okay.”

Climbing the stairs, she drew a deep breath.

Standing at the door, she raised her hand and knocked.

The door opened, and the man’s cold, pale face stared at her expressionlessly, his gaze indifferent.

“Husband.”
