In the hallway of the university, Yuu’s eyes met mine. At that instant, he glared at me intensely and started walking straight toward me with a serious expression. Akihito was already fed up. What exactly did he have against me? I couldn’t help but sigh at his approach.

Whether he hadn’t noticed the person behind him or was pretending not to, the man grabbed both of Akihito’s hands and said this.
“Let go of my hands.”
“Huh? Ah, sorry… I’m Irie Hikaru. I’m in the Psychology Department. If you want, would you go out with me?”
“This makes no sense. Yuu, who is this guy?”
“…Just a friend.”
The voice of the man in front of him drew the attention of the people around them. Akihito let go of his hands.
“I’ve got class next, so if he’s a friend, can you handle him?”
“Goodbye.”
With that, Akihito left.
“Wow, that girl’s scary… Were they really dating?”
“Don’t get involved.”
“But… he never gave me a chance before. But since they broke up… it’s fine, right?”
Yuu shivered at Hikaru’s daring smile.
That’s why I didn’t tell him. If I fell for him with a serious face, he’d cruelly reject me—that’s the worst kind of guy. Well, I can’t exactly talk, considering my own past.
