  The Stepsister Pretends to Be Asleep

“I’m home.”

───Huh?

Normally, Yumi would come running with her usual bright, “Welcome home, big brother!” but today, there was no such greeting.

For a moment, I wondered if maybe she hadn’t come back yet, but her shoes were sitting neatly by the entrance. That meant she was definitely at home.

Puzzled, I stepped into the living room.

“…Ah, so that’s why.”

I immediately understood the reason.

The reason I wasn’t greeted…

It was because Yumi had dozed off on the living room sofa, half out of her uniform.

I walked over to where she lay and casually looked down at her face.

…As always, she was beautiful. Small and delicate features, perfectly balanced, glossy lips, and silky hair.

───Or rather.

“She’s asleep with her uniform half undone, so I can see part of her bra and her chest.”

Even so… though she’s my little sister, so I don’t mean this in any perverted way—just a statement of fact—Yumi really does have a large chest.

On top of that, she’s got a great figure overall… truly, an impossible little sister to deal with.

“…Sigh.”

Resigned, I reached out, intending to button up her loose blouse. That’s when I noticed something stuck behind her back.

Did she fall asleep without realizing something was under her? For Yumi not to notice—maybe she was unusually tired today? …But still, if she were that tired, it would be even harder to sleep with something uncomfortable pressed against her back.

Thinking this through, I leaned down over her, reaching behind her back to pull out whatever was there—when suddenly, a sultry voice sounded right beneath me.

“N-No, you can’t, big brother…! We’re siblings, we can’t do this…!”

“What…!?”

The voice was coming from Yumi. The Yumi I was leaning over right now.

I started to move away, but before I could, Yumi grabbed my shoulders and said,

“No, stop! Big brother, you have to resist!”

“If you’re saying stop, then let go of me!”

I pried her hands off my shoulders and stepped back a little.

Then Yumi sat up and said,

“I just wanted to try it once—you know, the whole ‘big brother pushing me down, but since we’re siblings it’s forbidden!’ kind of scenario. But… yeah, the whole ‘because we’re siblings it’s wrong’ thing doesn’t really suit us, does it?”

“Doesn’t suit us, she says! Wait—so you were awake this whole time!?”

“Of course I was. I thought maybe if I left my shirt open while pretending to sleep, you might do something to me… and look, it worked! Now I know what it feels like to be pinned down by you, and I’d like to try that again sometime!”

“…So the thing stuck behind your back—was that also part of your setup, to make me lean over you?”

When I asked, Yumi pulled out the object.

“Yup! Just a cushion. I left it sticking out a little so you’d notice, and I figured you’d try to pull it out for my comfort. And you did!”

“…Terrifying. Couldn’t you use that brain for something more productive—like figuring out how to see me as just your real brother?”

“Nope! I can’t! Instead, you should start seeing me as a girl, big brother.”

As she said that, she deliberately pushed forward her still-exposed chest.

“Button that up already!”

“Geez, fine, fine! I’ll close it. Anyway, I’ve already cooked, so I’ll bring the food out. You just wait here in the living room, okay?”

With that, Yumi headed into the kitchen.

…Honestly, just thinking about what the future holds makes me feel exhausted already.

“I love you, big brother. I want to do naughty things with you. I want to marry you… That little scene just now really set me off. Starting today, maybe I’ll try attacking you for real.”
