Chapter 10 — Two Beast Husbands Fight Desperately for Her
Huge wolf claws closed in on her from all directions, squeezing so hard that Luoluo felt like her internal organs were about to burst.
Just then, a weak voice suddenly sounded from behind her.
“Let her go.”
Luoluo’s cat‑like ears perked up with joy. It’s Ziye!
She would never mistake that voice. Even though Ziye hated her so much, he still came to save her. See—she knew he had feelings for her.
She happily called out to her system: “Little White, look! I wasn’t imagining things.”
The system immediately poured a bucket of cold water on her:
“In front of you is a seventh‑rank beastman giant wolf. Instead of fantasizing, maybe consider how you’re going to stay alive.”
Luoluo was speechless. Could this system not say something nice for once?
If she died, it wouldn’t be able to complete its mission either.
They were grasshoppers tied to the same rope—why didn’t it understand mutual support?
Meanwhile, Ziye and the two little cubs were furiously digging into the ground. In no time, the three tiny figures had created a huge pit.
They dug out the ground beneath the giant wolf’s feet. After two steps, it suddenly fell in and stumbled hard.
Luoluo was thrown out as well. Instinctively, Ziye reached out to catch her.
Her large body crashed down on him, and he felt his ribs almost snap.
“Get off!” he snarled, his face turning pale from pain.
Luoluo stood up, aggrieved. You’re the one who tried to catch me. You couldn’t hold me and now you’re blaming me?
It was like a man failing to lift a woman, then blaming her for being too heavy.
Luoluo looked down at her plump body and sighed. …Okay, maybe she shouldn’t blame him entirely.
“Let her go!”
A roar erupted. Chi Yao threw aside the dry branches in his arms and rushed over recklessly.
He shoved Ziye aside and scooped Luoluo into his arms, lifting her beast skirt to check her body from top to bottom.
Luoluo was in so much pain she couldn’t move, but the shame was unbearable.
Just like that, she had been seen completely by a male—in broad daylight, in public.
Seeing the two tangled together, Ziye clutched his chest and spat out a mouthful of blood.
He immediately questioned Chi Yao, “What did you say? Let her go? Are you blind? I was saving her!”
Big guy, could you at least use your bull brain before you talk?
The one you should be telling to “let go” is the giant wolf—not me.
How could someone talk tough without even knowing who they’re threatening?
He really couldn’t understand why Luoluo liked such a fool so much.
Chi Yao finished examining Luoluo’s injuries and finally relaxed when he confirmed nothing was seriously broken.
Facing Ziye’s murderous glare, he calmly said, “I meant you—you let go of her.”
Ziye, with his sneaky eyes and constantly shifty look, clearly wasn’t up to anything good.
Naturally, Chi Yao guarded against him first. As for the giant wolf—he would kill it no matter what.
How dare it touch his female.
“Die, you filthy wolf!”
Chi Yao leaped up and smashed his fist into the giant wolf’s head.
The giant wolf was stunned for a moment, not quite reacting to this sudden opponent.
It twitched its giant ears and shook its body.
Chi Yao thought his punch worked. He turned around and grinned at Luoluo,
“Female, I won—”
Before he finished bragging, he was slapped away like a rag doll.
He crashed heavily onto the ground, clutching his face in agony.
“I… lost?!”
Ziye shot him a disdainful look. “Get up. If you don’t get up—”
Before he could finish, the wolf’s other paw slammed down.
With pure instinct rather than skill, Chi Yao sprang up like a catapult and dodged the strike.
The ground where he had been just exploded into a massive crater.
A‑Cang and A‑Jin curled into terrified balls. Their freshly dug pit was now gone—roof and all.
“Careful!”
Luoluo hooked her tail around the two cubs and pulled them away just before the claws struck again.
Ziye’s eyes darkened, emotions surging uncontrollably.
He pushed the thoughts aside and shouted at the cubs, “Hide, quickly!”
A‑Cang dragged A‑Jin and they hurriedly dug another hole and disappeared inside.
“Give me your bone knife. Hurry!” Ziye barked impatiently.
Luoluo obediently threw him the blade.
Ziye ordered Chi Yao, “If you don’t want your female to die, follow my lead.”
Chi Yao shot forward.
“Big brother, whatever you say—I’ll listen.”
He might not like Ziye normally, but in critical moments, Ziye’s intelligence was reliable.
Chi Yao knew he wasn’t smart—he only had brute strength.
And right now, they weren’t just saving their female—they were fighting for their own lives.
Today, either the giant wolf died…
or they would.
“You go first and draw its attention,” Ziye instructed, already sprinting far ahead.
Chi Yao had no time to think and rushed the wolf again.
Before fighting, he shouted insults:
“Filthy wolf! Come hit me! Hit me!”
The giant wolf was instantly provoked by his annoying taunts and swung its massive claws at him. The ground was left dotted with huge craters.
Chi Yao dodged just in time, but several times he nearly became minced beef.
Meanwhile, Ziye had silently circled behind the wolf and leaped onto its back, stabbing downward with the bone knife.
The wolf howled and flung him far away. The knife, however, remained lodged in its body.
It was stuck right at the scapula—neither too high nor too low—and the wolf strained to reach it but couldn’t.
Luoluo clutched her chest and staggered up, just in time to see both of her beast husbands fighting desperately for her.
One drawing the wolf’s attention in front, the other launching sneak attacks from behind.
They were… oddly in sync.
Ziye jumped onto the wolf’s back again, yanked the knife out, and slashed at its neck.
Blood sprayed like a fountain, blasting him off the wolf with tremendous force.
Splat—
He smacked against a tall tree like a squashed mosquito, then fell to the ground with a thud.
Luoluo rushed over and held him. “Are you okay?”
He had already been seriously injured by Lili before. Now, his internal organs felt like they were exploding.
Hearing her question, he couldn’t help but curse,
“Do I look okay to you?!”
The moment he cursed, he regretted it—because it hurt even more.
Luoluo heard how loud and steady his voice was and assumed he wasn’t in critical condition. He certainly didn’t sound like someone on the verge of death.
She asked timidly, “Why did you help me?”
Didn’t he hate her?
Ziye lifted his eyelids and said weakly,
“Because I don’t want you to die too quickly.”
If the giant wolf slapped her once, she’d die instantly. His goal was to make sure she lived long enough for him to—
