Chapter 4: Die for Me!
More than death itself, Ziye wanted to torment Lolo—just like she had tormented him back then—making her life worse than death.
Although she knew Ziye’s demands would surely be extreme, Lolo still nodded. “Yes.”
She comforted herself: everything was for the mission. There was no baseless hatred or love, and certainly no sudden windfall of RMB.
Endure the bitter to achieve your little goal of one hundred million.
Ziye sneered. “Good, then…”
Lili casually picked up a huge stone, twirling it in her hand. She wanted to see what outrageous demand Ziye might make.
Down on the high platform, the beastmen held their breath tensely. After all, the princess had already issued a warning—if Ziye climbed up the pole, what would they do?
Beastmen valued promises above all. A beastman without trust cannot stand—that was the foundation of their lives and the unshakable law keeping the beast world in order.
In this regard, beastmen were far better than humans. At least they kept their word.
Ziye, with Lili’s murderous gaze upon him, calmly said, “Then come with me to the Wild Island.”
“What? Wild Island? No, absolutely not!” Lili jumped up in protest. “My daughter will never go to a place like that.”
Wild Island was beyond Lili’s jurisdiction. Dangerous beasts ran rampant there. What if her daughter were harmed?
Lili pushed Lolo gently. “Ah Lolo, what do you say?”
Lolo looked up, holding her mother’s hand, wagging her tail and smiling. “Mother, don’t worry. I’ll be fine.”
She didn’t know what Ziye had planned, but Chiyao and Xiaozhan were there too. As their female master, she felt it necessary to go. If Chiyao died, her mission would fail.
And if Xiaozhan cheated on her… how could she survive here afterward? Just thinking about it embarrassed her.
“Worry? How could I possibly not worry?!”
Lili’s ears twitched in black, white, and brown stripes, clearly furious.
She was a noble tabby cat—majestic and regal in front of others, but a hopelessly doting mother in private.
She had never been apart from her precious daughter. Now she was about to go far away. How could she be calm?
Lolo spoke softly, “Mother, Ziye will protect me, right, Ziye?”
She glanced at Ziye, meeting his obscure gaze, raising an eyebrow.
If you don’t reassure my mother, I can’t go.
Ziye frowned, conflicted. If he didn’t go to Wild Island, Lolo wouldn’t die. But if he agreed to Lili, he… wouldn’t protect her.
He slightly nodded—his greatest concession.
Lili exhaled in relief. Her daughter had always been mischievous, doing what she was forbidden to do. This time was no exception. Knowing she couldn’t stop her, she reluctantly nodded.
Grabbing Lolo’s arm, Lili bit down hard.
“Ah… Mother?” Lolo’s eyes widened—her mother’s bite hurt worse than a young beast’s.
Lili had a matching bite mark on her arm and was satisfied. “Only this way can I be at ease.”
Maya, seeing Lolo’s confusion, explained: “This is a tracking beast mark. Mother and daughter share one heart. Wherever the princess is, the Queen will know. If the mark changes color, it means the princess is in danger.”
“If you lose even a single hair, I will flatten Wild Island immediately.” Lili sniffled. The thought of her daughter traveling so far made her unbearably sad.
Watching the deep bond between mother and daughter, Ziye felt a mix of envy and sadness, which soon gave way to jealousy.
Why was it that he, a mouse prince, had suffered after leaving his tribe and marrying into the cat clan, while Lolo, who caused so much trouble, was still cherished?
He said coldly, “Lolo, since you’ve agreed, what are we waiting for?”
Lili frowned. “Leave now?”
“What else?” Ziye had taken control, and the entire area tensed.
A dark, dangerous light sparkled in his eyes—soon, it would be Lolo’s death. Once they reached Wild Island, he didn’t believe a fourth-tier beastman could survive.
Lolo found it amusing. She had given Ziye the perfect chance to make a request, yet he suggested going to Wild Island.
Unable to resist, she called the system: [System, do you think he still has feelings for me, which is why he didn’t make an outrageous request?]
The system laughed: [You’re really overthinking. What if he wants to kill by proxy? Wild Island isn’t a vacation spot.]
Lolo: …
“Mother, I’m leaving.” Lolo hugged Lili and buried her head in her mother’s arms.
Maya handed her a large bundle made of beast hide. “Princess, take these with you for the journey.”
Lolo smiled. This female leader was truly kind. Her pure eyes showed nothing but admiration for her.
Looking down at her chubby paws, Lolo knew she couldn’t be very pretty—no mirror required. She didn’t understand what Maya admired.
Lili handed her a sharp bone knife. “Take it.”
Ziye glanced at the two young cubs and suddenly regretted it. To get revenge on Lolo, these two kids would have to suffer alongside him.
Wild Island lay at the center of the thirteen tribes. The journey wasn’t long, and after half a day, they arrived.
“Is this it?” Lolo looked at the lush forest, surprised. She had expected Wild Island to be barren, but everything seemed full of life.
Towering tropical rainforest trees blocked the sun, their thick branches intertwined. Below, dense green undergrowth stretched out, winding rivers ran nearby, and colorful flowers bloomed everywhere.
This is Wild Island? It’s a paradise, a hidden haven.
Ziye sniffed the air. A strong scent of blood filled it, and thick mist seemed to gather deliberately around them.
“Not good!” He instinctively shielded the two cubs.
At that moment, a deep bellow echoed through the valley.
Chiyao suddenly appeared in Lolo’s sight. Two horns protruded from his head.
His skin was a healthy wheat color. His nose was high, lips slightly thick, and thick eyebrows arched upward.
His body was a perfect golden ratio: broad shoulders, narrow waist, muscular back forming a perfect inverted triangle.
His abs looked like finely sculpted art.
As he ran, veins popped on his arms, radiating the energy and passion of an athlete.
Lolo couldn’t help smiling. Who could resist this dark-skinned athlete?
What Lolo saw as a handsome man, Ziye saw as danger.
Without hesitation, he shielded the two cubs and dodged.
“Die for me!” Chiyao bellowed into the sky. Seeing Lolo, his pupils dilated. He charged recklessly, horns like blades aimed straight at her chest.
