Chapter : 04
âMiss, you said that name was forbiddenâŠ.â
âIâll take that back.â
ââŠIt was Bibi.â
Sojinâs eyes shook violently. She forced the corners of her lips upward.
Chairman Lee looked at Sojin worriedly.
âWhatâs wrong, Sojin? Hmm?â
âI just suddenly couldnât remember, so I got curious. Itâs nothing.â
Chairman Lee laughed as if he found it absurd.
âHeh heh, she may be my daughter, but I really canât figure her out.â
âHoney, Sojin seems very tired, soâŠ.â
Mrs. Jeongâs words faded into the distance. Sojinâs hands trembled.
She had desperately hoped it wasnât true, but every clue was pointing to one and only one thing.
Bibi, the dog raised by Lee Sera.
The people who called Sojin âMiss.â
And Chairman Lee and Mrs. Jeong.
The male lead, Dohyun.
Sojin clasped her trembling hands together.
ââŠThis is a dream. It has to be a dream!â
It seemed that I had become the fiancée, Sera.
Secretary Han guided Sojin to a certain room. It was probably the room that âfiancĂ©e Seraâ normally used.
When she opened the door, white light poured out.
The walls, beautifully blending ivory and white, were surrounded by delicate platinum molding.
A small chandelier sparkled like starlight on the ceiling.
The room literally glittered with white.
Sojin flopped down onto the bed. She stared blankly at the chandelier on the ceiling.
âThe owner of this room is a devil, but the room looks like it belongs to an angel.â
Even from a rational perspective, Sojin couldnât understand how she had entered a drama.
It felt as though her mind kept refusing to accept it.
Suddenly, Sojin sprang to her feet.
Come to think of it, what did the fiancée do in the drama?
âShe harassed the female lead, forced the male lead to marry her, and obsessed over him. She was the final villainâŠ.â
And thenâŠ.
âIn the end⊠she died.â
Sojin let out a deep sigh.
The fiancĂ©eâs fate was death.
Not only that, but she met such a futile end by accidentally dying while trying to kill the female lead.
That would probably be the ending Sojin would have to face.
âHaahâŠ.â
Sojin repeatedly rubbed her dry face before abruptly getting to her feet.
She couldnât just sit around and die.
Whether she changed the ending or somehow removed herself from it, she had to try something.
Sojin sat at the white desk and opened a notebook. Then she picked up a pen.
<Shh! Working> was a famous short-form romance drama. It was popular enough to rank among the top titles.
The main storyline of the original began with a single project.
The âReplay Project.â
The goal was to create a hit IP that would completely defeat âHonest,â the competing OTT platform of âReplay,â the OTT platform operated by Kangseong Group.
Naturally, at the center of that project was the male lead, Kang Dohyun.
There were two other important characters besides him.
First was Son Yuna, the head of Planning Team 1, who helped him.
She led her team through her abilities, solved crises, and eventually won peopleâs heartsâthe female lead of this drama.
The other character was someone who became obsessed with Dohyun under the pretext of loving him and constantly regarded Yuna as an eyesore.
A character whose absence would make a story like this boring.
The villain, âLee Sera.â
That was my role.
Sojin took a deep breath.
âI have to change it.â
In this drama, Lee Sera eventually died.
And even more horrifying than being burdened with the fate of death was the fact that Lee Seraâs role resembled Son Yeji, the person Sojin hated the most.
An incompetent parachute hire.
A nasty bitch who took credit for other peopleâs achievements.
Was that all?
She would have to cling to him even if she hated him, and obsess over him even though she didnât want to.
She would also have to say things she didnât even want to say, just like earlier.
Sojin remembered what she had experienced at the restaurant.
Those lines that had appeared like a game system window.
âI couldnât move my body while delivering the linesâŠ. Except that I could move my arms just a little.â
She had definitely been able to cover her mouth.
Sojin wrote Rule 1 in her notebook.
âThe lines must be spoken by force. However, the arms and hands can be moved.â
Sojin tapped her lips with the tip of the pen.
What should she do first if she wanted to change the original story?
âThe fiancĂ©e gradually began walking into hell after joining the company where the male lead worked.â
The fiancĂ©e joined the company where Dohyun worked through nepotism because she wanted to catch Dohyunâs attention.
She even entered in a high-ranking position as a team leader.
âTo think that I, who was thoroughly tormented by a parachute hire, would become one myself.â
Was this what they called the irony of life? Sojin let out a deep sigh.
How could she avoid this hell?
As Sojin pondered deeply, a good idea suddenly flashed through her mind.
She smiled triumphantly.
âWhy donât I just avoid entering hell in the first place?â
âI donât want to go to work anymore, Father.â
âWhat?â
âIâll live as an unemployed person. I donât want to work.â
She tried responding with a shameless attitude, but it was useless.
Chairman Lee began trying to persuade Sojin.
âDidnât you spend an entire week pestering me because you wanted to work with Representative Kang? Why did you suddenly change your mind?â
âI donât like him anymore.â
The chairmanâs eyes widened. His daughter had always been fickle, but he never expected her to change her mind about this as well.
âSuddenly? Good grief, this is bewildering. It feels like only yesterday that you confidently declared you would seduce him.â
Chairman Lee stroked his chin as he looked at Sojin.
No matter how he thought about it, his daughter had been acting strangely lately.
She had occasionally played bizarre pranks, but this time, there was no doubt that something had truly changed in his daughterâs mind.
âIf I had it my way, Iâd grant my daughter everything she asks for, but I canât do this one.â
It was âthatâ Kangseong Group.
He had put tremendous effort into getting the president of Kangseong Media to give his daughter a position through nepotism, even handing over a huge bribe.
But if she suddenly said she wouldnât go to the company, his reputation would be ruined.
On top of that, Chairman Kang had probably already heard that his daughter was joining the company.
âFortunately, Kangseong Media is a small affiliate, so the chairman seems to be leaving it alone. But I shouldnât give him any more reason to find fault.â
After organizing his thoughts, Chairman Lee smiled at Sojin and said,
âDaughter, you know how much I love you, donât you?â
âYou⊠I suppose?â
Sojin answered vaguely and smiled awkwardly.
Since he was bringing up how much he loved me, heâll obviously listen to what I say, right?
However, Chairman Lee looked at Sojin with a meaningful smile.
An uneasy premonition flashed through Sojinâs mind.
âThen you love your father too, right?â
ââŠOf course.â
âThen go to work.â
âWhat?!â
Sojin forced a smile and pleaded with the chairman.
If she begged just a little more, he would grant her request.
Chairman Lee was hopelessly devoted to his daughter, after all.
âIâm telling you, I donât want to go to work.â
âI canât do as you say. This father has his own circumstances too.â
But Chairman Lee continued to give her nothing but refusals, completely going against Sojinâs expectations.
Sojin felt like grabbing Chairman Lee by the hem of his trousers.
She didnât need anything else. She just wanted him to grant her this one request!
âPlease, just this once. Next time, Iâll do as you say.â
âI donât know how many times Iâve heard you say that. This time, I really canât. You should keep your promise about wanting to go to that company.â
Unable to persuade Chairman Lee, who was as unyielding as an iron fortress, Sojin returned to her room.
Chairman Lee, whom she had naturally expected to nod his head, had rejected her words far too firmly.
âI canât believe this. In the drama, he was a father who could never go against his daughterâs wishes!â
Could it be that he was preventing her from going against the events of the original story?
Sojin clutched her head.
In the end, the fact that she would enter that company through nepotism could not be changed.
That meant she had to walk into hell even though she knew it was hellâŠ.
âWhat should I do?â
At seven in the morning, Dohyunâs phone rang.
Lying in bed, he slowly opened his eyes. He picked up his phone.
The name âSecretary Ahnâ was displayed on the phone.
ââŠWhat is it?â
âCEO. It seems H has started a media campaign. Iâll send you the article.
