Ria carefully considers where she could live with Yoon while staying out of Baek Shinwooās sight. She realizes that Nasari is actually the most suitable place because Shinwooās group happens to be building an outlet and amusement park there.
She bitterly thinks that things might have been different if she had known from the beginning that Shinwoo was the son of the Baekjae Groupāor if she had never gone to the Dream Village interview. Remembering how happy she had been when she got the job makes her laugh bitterly.
Shinwoo tells her that one day should be enough if she is confident she can avoid being caught. Ria becomes extremely uneasy because she cannot allow him to discover Yoonās existence. She briefly considers running away with Yoon, but the possibility of being caught makes her reject the idea.
She firmly tells Shinwoo that she isn’t going to run away because she has no reason to. Shinwoo then calmly tells her to move into his residence.
Ria is shocked. Her manager had previously told her that Shinwoo usually came only once or twice a week, mostly late at night, so she had assumed she wouldn’t have to see him often. Now he wants her to live there, but Ria cannot leave Yoon behind.
When she refuses, Shinwoo asks why. He talks about wealthy men and tells her that, since she supposedly cares about money, he will give her treatment appropriate to what she wants. He continues treating her as though she is simply a woman obsessed with money.
Ria is deeply hurt by his words, especially because she remembers how Shinwoo once loved her and called her āmy heart.ā She understands that he feels betrayed by her and realizes that she still loves him despite everything.
Ria thinks that perhaps she should remain beside him until his wounds healāor at least try to ease the pain she believes she caused him. She realizes that her earlier thought of using Yoon as an excuse to escape wasn’t truly what she wanted.
When she says that she would accept it if doing so would make Shinwoo feel better, he questions what she means. He makes it clear that he doesn’t believe he has any feelings left toward her that need to be resolved.
To Ria, Shinwoo remains deeply engraved in her heart, while she believes that she has become insignificant to himāsomeone he has already discarded.
He tells her that because she supposedly loves money, he is simply going to give her the corresponding treatment. Ria struggles to keep herself from crying.
When Shinwoo catches her looking at him emotionally, he warns her not to look at him that way because he won’t be fooled again.
Ria decides that she doesn’t care what he thinks of her. She doesn’t know how long she’ll be able to remain near him, so while she is there, she wants to do what he asks.
As she prepares to leave, Shinwoo calls her back. He approaches, lifts her chin, and tells her that from now on she should answer him directly. Ria obeys, but the moment leaves her extremely flustered.
She quickly leaves the room, her heart pounding, and spends the rest of the day distracted by thoughts of him while taking care of Yoon after work.
The Following Day
When Ria arrives at work, her manager calls her aside and gives her a new assignment.
From that day forward, Ria is ordered to focus exclusively on the second floor where Shinwoo stays. The manager emphasizes that this was Shinwoo’s direct order and tells her to be careful because the other housekeepers may gossip about it.
The manager also warns her about a grand piano on the second floor and specifically tells her not to touch or clean it.
Ria becomes emotionally affected when she sees the piano. She learns that Shinwoo uses the entire second floor alone. There is a fitness room, a home bar, a home theater, and the grand piano positioned near the large windows.
Instead of approaching the piano, she begins cleaning his bedroom.
The slightly disturbed bedsheets make her realize that Shinwoo recently slept there. His familiar presence brings back memories of their relationship.
She remembers how he used to call her āmy heartā and tell her that she was the reason his heart beat. She also remembers their playful conversations and how she used to call him āBaekgu,ā a nickname inspired by a large white dog.
Shinwoo had particularly liked being called Baekgu. Ria remembers their warm, affectionate past and how different their relationship had once been.
Lost in those memories, Ria touches her lips and becomes embarrassed thinking about what had happened between them in that bedroom.
Then she suddenly turns around.
Baek Shinwoo is standing right behind her, having just come out after showering.
Startled and embarrassed because he isn’t fully dressed, Ria apologizes and tries to move past him.
But Shinwoo suddenly grabs Ria by the wrist.
