Chapter 38
The End of the Trip Means a Union
2021.01.12
Calypse in front of me felt unbearably teasing.
âDoes he really think Iâm impotent?â
Otherwise, thereâs no way heâd be saying such lewd things right in front of me. And now, Calypse had even⌠started using his hands.
âDo you work out every day?â
The intimate touch gradually moved from the outside toward my core. His gaze, felt through his body, clung to me so intensely that I couldnât pull away. Honestly, I could have avoided it if I wanted, but Macaron had no intention of doing so. Every time the teasing hand traced along my abs, my body jerked involuntarily.
âThe outside is so firm, you know.â
Macaron thought he might actually burst like a loaf of bread, fully baked and swelling. Calypse gazed at him with beautiful eyes, while he froze and couldnât utter a word.
âAnd the inside⌠itâs soft and sweet, like cream.â
ââŚ.â
âMm⌠who says so?â
Macaron was dumbfounded by being treated like food. If Calypseâs lips looked cute at this moment, it would be madness. His head knew he should push Calypse away, but his body was frozen and couldnât move. But the next words made it impossible to hold back any longer.
âYou⌠really look deliciousâŚâ
Macaron clamped his mouth shut to stop himself from going insane, yet the soft sensation inside that large hand was irresistible.
âGod, why are you putting me through this trialâŚ!â
Macaron tore at his hair as the familiar scent of Calypse wafted toward him. Lifting his head, Calypse approached, meeting his gaze with a serene smile that contrasted with the moonlight. Her long eyelashes trembled as they fell, creating a unique aura. Resting one hand on her chin, Calypse stared down at him for a long time. There was a hint of sadness in her eyesâdifferent from before.
âCould she have sobered up?â
But Macaron had never seen anyone sober up this fast. It felt like days had passed, yet⌠with his own eyes, he understood the significance of the moonlight streaming through the window. Calypse, facing him directly, swept her pale, long fingers along his jawline.
âWho said youâre this handsome?â
ââŚ.â
âYouâre too handsomeâit tires me out.â
Her eyes were a little more relaxed, yet still piercing⌠Macaron was confused in this moment. Should he move closer, or hold back? His mind was consumed with this thought alone. Calypse smiled like a child who just discovered a delicious treat. Watching her drunken antics and the way she unsettled him, he found himself simultaneously annoyed and charmed. He felt utterly insane. His body burned with desire, and fearing heâd go mad, he began to rise slowly.
At that moment, Calypse grabbed Macaronâs face roughly with both hands, forcing him to look at her. Then⌠their lips met. What began as a simple peck gradually deepened. The soft, malleable sensation left Macaron dazed as she pulled him closer.
âYou started this first.â
Swallowing the thought, Macaron returned her kiss. The sweet scent of wine lingered, and Calypseâs body fragrance brushed teasingly against his nose. For a while, she teased him by pulling away and drawing close repeatedly. The night was still, as if time itself had stopped.
After some time, Calypseâs hand, which had been holding him, dropped to the side. The malleable feeling disappeared as if it had never existed. It was like waking from an empty dream; Macaron opened his eyes to see Calypse collapsed backward.
âWife? Wife!â
Unlike his wide-awake eyes, she remained still, eyes closed. Macaron called her name several times carefully, but all he got was an unresponsive echo. He sat like a stone statue, waiting for her to wake. Finally, sighing in resignation, he gently laid Calypse back on the bed. Her peaceful, unbothered sleep made her⌠beautiful. So stunning that it could drive him insane.
âThey say ten bottles is nothingâŚâ
Macaron sipped the wine left alone. He thought that maybe losing himself in it was the only way to cool his heated body. But with every sip, the events of just a while ago became more vivid in his mind, igniting his body further. Feeling he might literally burn up if he stayed, Macaron quickly turned toward the door. He assumed Olene was guarding it⌠of course, that was a lie. The moment he opened the door, someone grabbed the back of his neck. To his disbelief, it was Calypse, sprawled on the bed.
âWho said you could leave without permission!â
He had no idea when she had jumped off the bed and approached silently. Grabbing the back of his neck with surprising strength, Calypse pulled him back onto the bed. Macaron, trying to see how far this would go, froze for a moment. She hugged him tightly, but only her arms rested on himâtechnically, he was in the position of holding her.
She murmured like a child in his arms:
âDonât go anywhere.â
ââŚ.â
âYouâre mine.â
Macaron muttered to himself, watching her long eyelashes, knowing she couldnât hear him:
âI wonât go anywhere without you, my wife.â
Trapped in her embrace, she didnât move a muscle.
âHow can she sleep with my heart pounding like this?â
Calypse didnât care, and slept soundly against his chest. Watching her for a while, Macaron felt his own body heat rising. Carefully, he tried to extricate himself from her embrace to fight off the obscene thoughts racing through his mind.
Wine, an unfamiliar ceiling, an unfamiliar scenery, and the familiar scent of Woody. The moment I opened my eyes, I immediately checked my clothes under the blanket. Luckily, they were intact. Nothing happened⌠though I feel like I didnât even drink much. My head feels like itâs about to split open.
After gulping down a bottle of water, his mind finally cleared.
âWhere did I sleep?â
Suddenly, a strange memory rushed into his mind.
âWhat is this?â
The fragmented memories of last night flooded his mind like a tidal wave.
âThis canât be⌠no, it canât. But⌠itâs me?â
âAhhh!!â
He screamed, then quickly covered his mouth.
âIâm crazy. Calypse, Iâm crazy!â
Pulling at his hair, he pondered how to deal with the situation. She wanted to eat⌠what, how could this be! His lips were still burning, his face flushed. Not considering the fact that the host body had changed after possession was a huge mistake. Even so, he had never imagined passing out after only a few drinks. The dim light coming through the window signaled the dawn.
âShould I just pretend I remember nothing? That would be too shameless.â
Still undecided, Macaron entered. Even with his eyes closed, he felt his gaze and flinched. Her face was closer, her breathing rougher than usual. Apparently, she had been working out this late at night.
âWife, are you still not fully awake?â
ââŚ.â
Her long sigh didnât bode well.
âWhat should I do? Should I wake her?â
But he didnât have the courage to face her yet. He chose to feign ignorance. Soon, the bed tilted to the other side, and the familiar scent came near. Though they didnât touch, the narrow space between them took his breath away. If he had known, he would have taken the edge position⌠He could feel Calypse trying hard not to touch him.
Some time passed, and a low voice murmured with a soft sigh:
âWife, do you know something?â
ââŚ.â
âI guess I really like you a lot.â
ââŚ.â
âEven when I see you, I want to see more. When I donât, I want to see you even more. Somehow, all my moments are shared with you.â
His sudden confession made Macaronâs heart skip a beat. Many expressions had been directed at him, but never such a direct confession.
âEven if you say you donât like it, I canât help it.â
ââŚ?â
âBecause itâs my heart.â
ââŚ!â
âSo⌠IâŚâ
He took a long breath before continuing:
âI want to be with you for a long time. In a year, in ten years⌠no, I want to be with you for life.â
ââŚ.â
âI never realized how thrilling it is to be with someone.â
ââŚ.â
âI donât want to lose you, but⌠what should I do?â
His voice, low and sweet, lingered behind him, making it impossible not to turn back. Holding his breath, he waited as he concluded his long monologue:
âI wanted to confess today⌠but foolishly, I did it alone again.â
Macaron couldnât sleep a wink, keeping a measured distance until morning. His uneven breathing and occasional low sighs through his back gave it away. Yet, he never came closer, as if a protective barrier surrounded him, as if touching him would be catastrophic.
âShould I get up and apologize now?â
But apologizing now would feel like saying yesterdayâs events were a mistake, pretending they never happened. He didnât want to erase the passionate kiss or his confession.
âMaybe I should just pretend I donât know?â
After agonizing over it, he decided to feign ignorance, opening his eyes only after Macaron left. Looking into the mirror, his face was pale, skin a little dry. Stepping into the garden where Macaron was, he saw Macaron gazing at the distant mountains with a solemn expression.
He approached quietly, but Macaron noticed immediately and spun around. His face looked as haggard as his own. Of course, Macaron couldnât see him as the changer, but the expression was solemn, with tight lips. Lipsâthose very lips he had kissed so deeply yesterdayâwere right in front of him.
âWait⌠did I⌠eat those?!â
Shock and horror surged through him. The interrupted scenes of yesterday flashed before his eyes, full of passionate breathing.
âI was crazy. Yes, I admit it. Yesterday, I was a fool. Woof.â
Staring endlessly at himâor rather, his lipsâhe heard his voice:
âAre you finally fully awake now?â
The emphasis on âfinallyâ felt deliberate.
