Chapter 69
Adamantine Sealing Chains!
Bear Country, northeast region.
Uchiha Shisui, Baiyun Yeshan, and Hyuga Homen were moving north along the edge of Hell Valley.
They were searching for a narrow point where they could cross the valley.
Soon, thanks to Hyuga Homen’s Byakugan, the three of them found a relatively narrow section.
Baiyun Yeshan took a bundle of grappling hooks from a storage scroll.
“Let me do it,” Uchiha Shisui said, taking the hook first. He aimed at a large tree on the other side of Hell Valley.
His Three-Tomoe Sharingan activated instantly!
Swish—
The grappling hook shot out like an arrow, piercing through the air and accurately embedding itself into a giant tree over 200 meters away on the opposite side of the valley.
The rope stretched tight across the toxic mist-filled abyss.
Baiyun Yeshan tied the other end to a tree on their side.
Then Shisui stepped onto the rope first, holding his breath to avoid inhaling the poison fog as he quickly crossed the valley.
When he was about to reach the other side, he pulled out a kunai, used a body flicker, and landed safely while remaining on high alert with his Sharingan scanning the surroundings.
After confirming there were no ambushes or traps, he signaled to Baiyun Yeshan and Hyuga Homen.
The two of them also crossed the rope over the poisonous valley.
“Cough, cough—” After arriving on the Bear Country side, Baiyun Yeshan coughed twice, clearly shaken by the small amount of poison he had inhaled.
“Senior Baiyun, are you alright?” Shisui asked.
Hyuga Homen activated his Byakugan and checked Baiyun Yeshan’s condition. After confirming he was fine, he nodded at Shisui.
“No problem. Let’s move on,” Baiyun Yeshan said, wiping sweat from his forehead.
The three formed a triangular formation and rushed through the forest canopy.
Shisui led in front, Hyuga Homen stayed on the right side with his Byakugan active, and Baiyun Yeshan covered the left.
Not long after they moved out—
Hyuga Homen suddenly warned sharply, “There’s something ahead!”
Shisui landed on a tree branch, and Baiyun Yeshan also stopped.
“Such… such enormous chakra…” Hyuga Homen said, veins bulging around his eyes as his Byakugan widened in shock.
“Location!” Shisui asked immediately.
“Northwest! Two kilometers away!” Hyuga Homen reported.
As a special jonin of the Hyuga clan, this level of sensory range was already impressive.
The three carefully advanced toward the northwest.
Soon, they reached the border area between Bear Country and Earth Country.
On the Bear Country side, three Iwagakure ninjas were fighting two women.
Shisui and his team hid in the shadows, shocked by what they saw.
A red-haired woman stood in the center of the battlefield. Three golden chakra chains behind her moved like living creatures, binding two enemy ninjas in mid-air. A third was pierced through the chest and pinned to a tree.
Not far away, a black-haired girl stood with her arms crossed, watching coldly.
“Cough!” Kaku spat out blood, staring at the golden chain piercing his abdomen and pinning him to the tree. He looked at the red-haired woman in shock.
“Explosion Style: Earth Mine Fist!”
Enduring the pain, he gathered chakra in his right fist and struck the golden chain.
BOOM!
The chain exploded violently on impact.
Using the blast, Kaku broke free and staggered back to the ground.
The remaining chain fragments slowly dissipated as the chakra faded, but the wound in his abdomen continued to bleed heavily.
He gasped for breath, his expression now filled with absolute seriousness.
That red hair made him think of the Uzumaki clan, famous in the ninja world for sealing techniques.
“Uzumaki clan survivors…” Kaku panted heavily, glancing at his teammates still bound in the golden chains, trying to figure out how to save them.
“Captain! Run! Leave us!” one of the captured Iwa ninjas shouted. “Take the information back to the village!”
“Shut up!” Kaku gritted his teeth.
Ignoring the pain, he suddenly kicked off the ground and rushed toward the black-haired girl.
As an elite of the explosion unit from Iwagakure, he refused to abandon his comrades.
He decided to target the black-haired girl instead, thinking she looked younger and less guarded.
She appeared relaxed—an opening.
“Stupid,” the black-haired girl snorted, rushing forward as well.
Kaku’s fist gathered explosive chakra. The moment it hit, the explosion would detonate on contact like a landmine.
A technique he had never failed with before.
However, just as their attacks were about to collide—
Kaku saw it.
Under the girl’s black hair, a pair of scarlet Sharingan eyes.
His body froze for a split second.
Uchiha Hikari had already closed the distance and delivered a powerful kick, sending him flying.
CRASH!
Kaku slammed into a rock and coughed blood violently as pain shot through his body. Several bones were likely broken.
He struggled to look up.
“Uchiha clan…! The Uchiha clan!” he thought in horror.
In battle, you must never look into a Uchiha’s eyes.
That was a rule every shinobi who survived the battlefield knew.
He had fought Uchiha before during the Third Ninja War—and he knew how terrifying they were.
A one-on-one fight at the same level meant almost certain defeat.
His eyes trembled as he looked at the black-haired girl again.
Then at the red-haired woman.
“Uzumaki clan…”
“Uchiha clan…”
What the hell is happening in Star Ninja Village and Bear Country?!
“Still not skilled enough,” the red-haired woman sighed.
Another golden chakra chain extended out, binding Kaku and securing him with the other captives.
Adamantine Sealing Chains were not just weapons, but a sealing barrier technique. The number of chains depended on the user’s strength.
At her current level, Uzumaki Xiangcao could barely form three chains.
“Not good… someone’s there!”
As she was finishing the sealing, she suddenly sensed something and looked in a direction.
Uchiha Hikari instantly raised her hand and threw several shuriken toward the forest.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Metal collided.
In the forest, Uchiha Shisui hurriedly threw shuriken to block them.
But just as the sound echoed—
A sudden chill ran down his spine.
The black-haired girl had already turned into a projectile, rushing straight toward him.
