PLOT:
I had lived as a maid for the Count’s household.
However, one day, I ended up switching bodies with the troublemaker young lady, Diana.
Just as I was about to reveal the truth,
the Count announced the engagement between Lady Diana and Prince Kair.
“Until the wedding, there must be not a speck of blemish in our Lanchester family. Even a single ant must be pure; do you understand?”
To survive, I hid behind the young lady’s mask and stood by the Prince’s side.
But he terribly detested me—or rather, the Diana I was impersonating.
“I have absolutely no intention of marrying you.”
And I felt the same way.
‘What good is being handsome if your personality is a wreck? I’d rather like a statue.’
But when did it start?
A burning heat began to seep into his eyes, which had been nothing but ice-cold.
The man who had coldly drawn a line and pushed me away was no more.
Finally, casting aside even his arrogance, he said to me,
“Do I have to kneel and beg for you to look at me?”
But he did not know. That
the one he is pleading with is not a noble countess, but
merely a lowly maid who must eventually return to her place.
