Chapter 16

What University?

Only after Shi Yushen finally fell asleep did Lin Suian dare climb down from the bed and slowly pick up his clothes from the floor one by one.

Enduring the pain in his body, he took the medicine box from the cabinet and casually grabbed an ointment to apply onto his wounds.

Lin Suian was still young and inexperienced.

He did not know how people were supposed to take care of themselves after these things happened.

He only knew that scars on the skin would hurt, so they needed to heal quickly.

Nervously, Lin Suian turned on the small lamp beside the table and adjusted it to the dimmest brightness.

Then he carefully glanced toward Shi Yushen.

The man looked exhausted.

The shadows beneath his eyes appeared especially deep under the weak lighting. His double eyelids looked heavier from sleepiness, and even the corners of his lips remained slightly pressed together.

Compared to his usual cold, arrogant, untouchable appearance, this sleeping face looked unexpectedly peaceful.

Staring at him like this, Lin Suian somehow felt a little less afraid.

He bent down and picked up his schoolbag from under the bed.

Earlier, when Shi Yushen had pushed him onto the bed, he found the bag annoying and kicked it away.

Lin Suian did not even dare brush the dust off it.

He carefully opened the zipper and took out the test papers from the last exam.

One glance—

A sea of red marks.

Even though he studied so hard, every exam still left him near the bottom of the rankings.

Looking at those cold scores, Lin Suian did not complain much.

Instead, he took out the corrected test paper Mu Xiaoyang had helped with and seriously started writing down his mistakes.

It was already very late.

He was so sleepy he kept yawning.

Resting one hand against his face, he still did not dare sleep, so he pinched himself hard to stay awake.

No one knew how much time had passed before Shi Yushen woke up again.

An impatient voice suddenly sounded behind him, lazy and hoarse with irritation from waking up.

“What are you doing sneaking around in the middle of the night?”

“If you’re not sleeping, then get out.”

Lin Suian wanted to leave too.

But the door was locked, and he could not open it.

Still, he did not dare talk back.

Lin Suian hurriedly packed up his schoolbag as though guarding against a wolf.

Seeing this, Shi Yushen suddenly smiled.

He got up to look for medicine, then lazily said in a low voice:

“Pour me a glass of water.”

Lin Suian could only stop what he was doing and follow the order.

But before he expected it, Shi Yushen walked over, picked up the test paper with the terrible score, and burst out laughing within seconds after seeing it.

“You keep whining beside me every day about wanting to go to school. I thought you loved studying that much.”

Shi Yushen tossed the paper aside and continued mocking him mercilessly.

“If I randomly stepped on this paper with my foot, I’d probably score higher than you.”

“With grades like this, you still want to get into university?”

Cold sweat formed in Lin Suian’s hands holding the water cup.

Facing Shi Yushen’s humiliation, his expression instantly stiffened.

His lips trembled slightly as he quietly said:

“I will get into university.”

Shi Yushen walked closer, shortening the distance between them.

A shadow covered Lin Suian from above.

Taking the glass from his hand, Shi Yushen drank a sip of water. His Adam’s apple moved slightly as he smiled and asked:

“What university? Whore University?”
