Chapter 6
Struggle
Shi Yushen laughed carelessly and let go of him.
His eyes were filled with arrogance and indifference as he repeated the same two words Lin Suian had heard before losing consciousness.
“Idiot.”
Unlike before, this time the words were crystal clear.
They pierced into Lin Suian’s chest like needles.
Lin Suian froze blankly in place.
His reddened eyes looked as if blood had seeped into them.
He suddenly grabbed Shi Yushen’s arm.
Only hoarseness and helplessness remained in his voice as he repeated desperately:
“I don’t believe you. Let me go.”
“I’m going to ask my godfather what exactly you did to me!”
And even if he asked—
So what?
Shi Yushen sneered dismissively and ignored him completely.
He turned around, went back into the room, grabbed the floor card, and threw it onto Lin Suian’s body.
“Fine. I’ll let you leave.”
The corners of his lips lifted slightly.
His tone sounded calm, but the violence hidden underneath could not be concealed.
“Just hope next time… you won’t come back kneeling and begging me.”
Crazy.
Only someone insane would ever come back and beg a rapist like him.
Lin Suian loosened his tightly clenched fists and bent down to pick up the floor card from the ground.
He bit down hard on his teeth, standing on the edge of collapse—
Yet in the end, he said nothing.
Only after getting into the elevator and leaving the floor did Lin Suian finally calm down a little.
The cold wind outside should have cleared his mind—
But instead, he felt so suffocated he could barely breathe.
It was as if a tiny stone was grinding against his head over and over again, making it difficult for him to think.
He raised his hand and stopped a taxi.
The entire ride home, he kept calling Qin You.
But no one answered.
After returning home, he opened the door like usual.
Inside, Qin You was drinking, chatting, and playing cards with his friends.
Nothing seemed strange.
Hearing the door open, Qin You turned around to look at him.
Still dressed in a neat suit with that familiar kind face, he loudly greeted him warmly.
“Sui Sui, you’re back. How was it? Was Mr. Shi satisfied?”
“I have something to ask you.”
Lin Suian gritted his teeth as he spoke, his voice full of anger and disbelief.
Qin You’s eyes instantly darkened with a sinister look.
“Sui Sui is in a bad mood today? Talking to your godfather like that?”
He slammed the mahjong tile in his hand onto the table.
“You all keep playing. I’ll take Sui Sui inside for a quick talk and come right back.”
Lin Suian was dragged into the room.
With a loud bang, the door shut behind them.
Qin You impatiently looked at him, completely ignoring his emotions.
“What now? Something wrong?”
Lin Suian’s eyes turned red as tears gathered inside them.
His voice carried a trembling sob as he questioned him:
“How much money did you receive… from the paintings you sold to Shi Yushen?”
Qin You was the one behind everything, so naturally he already knew what had happened.
This time, he did not bother hiding it anymore.
He raised his fingers and coldly stated the number.
“Thirty million. Plus a piece of land.”
After hearing the truth, Lin Suian completely broke down.
“So you really sold me!”
“I raised you for so many years and paid your mother’s medical bills for all this time. It’s only natural for you to repay me somehow.”
Qin You finally tore off his disguise, no longer pretending to be kind.
“I’ll repay you… I’ll repay you properly, Godfather. Please don’t treat me like this.”
Lin Suian tightly grabbed Qin You’s hand.
Like a dying fish struggling after being dragged onto land, he made one last weak attempt to resist.
Qin You suddenly exploded in anger.
“Ungrateful brat! Why do you think I raised you all these years?”
“Repay me? How exactly are you going to repay me?”
The more he spoke, the more emotional he became.
Spit flew from his mouth as the gentle face Lin Suian once remembered slowly transformed into a terrifying beast tearing him apart piece by piece.
“I can work! No matter how much I owe you, I’ll pay it back!”
Qin You violently shook off his hand.
“Pay it back? With what? Don’t forget, when you left with me back then, you didn’t even have a single coin in your pocket. Where are you supposed to get that much money from?”
“And what about your mother’s medical fees? Chemotherapy alone is like a bottomless pit. Even if you worked outside for your entire life, you still wouldn’t be able to repay it!”
