4. I Dreamed of an Ordinary Housewife’s Life
It has been about a month since I became Eilein. Currently, I was cleaning the windows.
A nanny’s daily routine goes like this:

I poured the cleanser into a glass bottle and left the room. Between cooking and cleaning, I really didn’t have a moment to rest.

A maid with light green hair tied in a ponytail ran toward me. It was Emma, the new maid at the Cold Palace.

I took her anyway. Contrary to what they said, Emma was smart, detail-oriented, and kind to the twins.
‘She looked so pale when she arrived, but she looks bright now.’
I guess it’s because there’s no one here to bully her.
“Good job. Let’s mop the floor together.”
It was time to make the hallway shine.
“I’ve never seen a hallway so sparkly! Even the main palace wasn’t this bright!”
Seeing Emma’s amazement made me proud. Products made by modern scientists really are different.
‘I have to turn this “haunted house” into a home.’
The palace was too big, but having Emma helped a lot. But the real reason I could keep going was…
“Eilein! Emma!”
Pitter-patter. The sound of light footsteps echoed. Louis ran up and hugged me tightly.
“Hello to both of you!”
“Louis, did you have fun playing?”
“Yes! I played by climbing trees!”
“I know you’re good at it, but be careful, okay?”
“Of course!”
His face finally had some healthy weight on it.
“Later, I’ll pick an apple for Eilein!”
He smiled so brightly. He was so cute I wanted to pinch his chubby cheeks.
“Really? I’m looking forward to it!”
“Yes! So I have to practice more!”
Louis jumped and ran off. His blonde hair sparkled.
‘The symbol of the Richard Imperial family.’
They were known for their jewel-like hair, eyes, and beauty. Louis turned back and smiled at me once more.
‘How could such a cute child become a villain?’
Louis was so bright that I couldn’t believe the book’s plot. I felt angry at the “old” Eilein again.
As I turned to finish my work…
“Agh!”
I screamed. Evan was standing right behind me.
‘He almost gave me a heart attack.’
I caught my breath. “Evan? How long have you been there?”
Evan didn’t answer. He just stared at me with an expressionless face.
“Are you hungry…?”
Before I could finish, he vanished.
“He’s gone.”
Maybe it’s because I hid vegetables under his fried egg this morning? Louis eats anything, but Evan hates vegetables.
While I was thinking, Emma spoke. “Evan seems like a difficult person.”
“He’s just shy. He’s actually very kind.”
If Eilein hadn’t abused him, he would have been a much brighter child.
‘Anyway, if we keep living like this, the original tragedy won’t happen.’
In the book, the twins kill Eilein and flee to the house of the heroine, Elshius.
But the real story starts when Kashar appears.

I remembered a description from the book:
[Kashar brushed back his blonde hair. The moonlight shone on his half-naked body. Elshius shrunk back at the sight of his muscles. His red eyes locked onto her—a beautiful possession called obsession.]
‘Wow, what a description.’
I felt a bit excited just thinking about it. I personally wanted him to end up with the heroine, but the “pretty boy” style Michael won her heart instead.
‘He’s the second male lead, so maybe I’ll see him once?’
I wiped the drool from my mouth. Imagining handsome men gave me strength.
The next morning, before the sun was even up, I went to the kitchen.
‘Soup is best for breakfast.’
I was preparing the broth and vegetables. I thought I just needed to boil it… until a stranger appeared.
CRACK!
The sound of a ceramic pot breaking echoed through the palace.
“Aaaah! Thief!”
I screamed, and the intruder collapsed to the floor.
‘I just wanted to make breakfast early!’
Some guy was trying to break in through the back door. I smashed his head with a stone pot. If he had gone into the children’s room, it would have been a disaster.
“You look strong, you should have gotten a real job instead of stealing.”
I looked down at him and felt a “nosebleed” coming on.
‘His body is insane.’
Even through his thin shirt, I could see his amazing muscles. For a thief, he had a fantastic back and… well, everything.
‘I have to see his face.’
I was going to hand him over to the guards, but I wanted to see who I caught.
As I carefully turned him over, I saw a masterpiece. His neck, his collarbones, his broad chest…
‘He is an A+++ handsome man.’
My internal “handsome-radar” was screaming. Perfect nose, perfect jawline.
Then I realized… he had blonde hair.
In this Empire, only the Imperial family has blonde hair. I pulled his hair to check if it was a wig—it was 100% real.
‘And he’s too handsome.’
I felt a bad omen. I pulled his eyelid up. His eye was a chilling red.
‘No way.’
There was only one blonde-haired, red-eyed man in the original story.
“Oh no, what have I done?”
The intruder I just knocked out with a soup pot was the “Obsessed Duke,” the second male lead of this novel.
