Episode 1 â I Seduced the Villain Without Knowing
It was pouring that morning â rain so heavy it felt like the sky had a hole in it.
In a small bar tucked away in the back alley of Bellot Street, the owner, Andel, sighed in frustration. The reason?
A young woman is sitting at the counter, drinking nonstop.
Of course, people drinking in a bar isnât a problem.
But there were two problems here:
First, this bar didnât serve random walk-in customers.is
Second â this woman had been sitting there drinking for three hours straight.
âCanât exactly kick her out in this weather, thoughâŠâ
Rania was still coming down hard outside. If sheâd just come in to get out of the rain, Andel wouldâve handed her an umbrella and sent her off.
But the woman had come in soaked to the bone, looking completely heartbroken, drinking while wiping her tears.
Andel was too much of a gentleman to throw out someone like that.
Never mind the fact that this âfragile, heartbroken ladyâ had already downed five bottles of the barâs strongest liquor â that didnât seem to matter much.
The normally noisy bar was eerily silent. The regulars were all sitting awkwardly, sneaking glances between Andel and the woman, not daring to speak.
Then, the woman raised an empty bottle and asked for another.
Andel hesitated.
âMiss, youâve already had quite a bit. How about stopping for tonight? I can prepare a room upstairs â you can rest there until the rain stopsâŠâ
âItâs fineee. Jus one more drink. Noâ not oneâ moreeee. This many! How manyâs that⊠two⊠ten?â
ââŠâ
Her tongue was completely twisted, but strangely, her face wasnât red at all. She looked perfectly Juser â which somehow made it worse.
Andel gave a strained smile.
He couldnât serve more alcohol to someone that drunk, no matter how polite she seemed.
But drunks always say the same thing â âIâm fine!â â when you refuse them a drink.
So Andel tried a different approach.
âIâm sorry, miss, but weâre out of that drink. I do have something a bit lighter, though â would you like that instead?â
âYes, pleeease. Thank youuuu.â
While her eyes were closed, Andel quietly poured water into the empty bottle instead. He was good at that sort of thing â quick and subtle.
The woman didnât notice at all. She lifted the bottle straight to her lips without even pouring it into a glass.
The way she chugged it startled Andel â even though he knew it was water.
A few seconds later, she blinked in confusion.
âHuhâŠ? Thatâs weird. Why does this taste like water?â
Her words were slurred, but her tongue still seemed to work fine â the tone was sharp and suspicious.
Andel didnât even flinch. He smiled kindly.
âItâs a new kind of liquor, made to be smooth and easy to drink. Tastes a little like purpose water.â
âOhhh⊠makes sense.â
âSo, miss⊠rough day, huh?â
He smoothly changed the topic. But at his gentle question, her face suddenly went stiff.
And then she said something that made Andel freeze.
âI want to kill someone.â
âŠNot just a random drunk, then.
The bar went dead silent. You could hear a pin drop.
Andelâs eyes narrowed slightly.
âThat bastard,â she mumbled, âthat damn dog of a manâ he cheated on me. That bastard.â
âIâ I see. So you meanââ
âBut then I found out⊠I was the other woman. I was the side chick!â
The woman mumbled like she was in a trance, then laughed bitterly and took another swig of rI-Iâdrink.â
âAnd I lent him money too! âWhatâs mine is yours, right?â he said. Ha! And then he ran away without paying me back. Even my engagement ringâs fake â cheap glass!â
âThatâs⊠very unfortunate, miss.â
âYeah. Super unfortunate. So now I wanna kill him. But, even if heâs trash, killing someoneâs bad, right? If I go to jail⊠my parents would be sad, wouldnât they?â
âWell, of course. If my daughter said she wanted to kill someone, Iâd⊠probably do it myself before letting her go to prison. No parent wants to see their child behind bars.â
âAh, well, my parents are in heaven, so they wonât know anyway.â
ââŠâ
âThat bastard⊠that damn bastardâŠâ
Still muttering, she slumped forward â fast asleep within seconds.
Andel sighed helplessly and looked around.
All the customers whoâd gone quiet during her âmurder confessionâ were staring with blank faces.
He shook his head.
âSheâs not here on business, idiots.â
Only then did everyone start whispering again â still awkwardly, but more relaxed.
At least the problem guest was asleep now.
Andel checked the clock, stepped out from behind the counter, and went to move her upstairs.
But just thenâ
âWhyâs it so quiet today? Thought youâd closed.â
âMust be the rain. Everyoneâs sluggish. We might need to up the quota tonight.â
The door opened, and two men stepped in, bringing the sound of rain with them.
Andel froze for a moment, then quickly straightened up and bowed.
âWelcome, Master. Youâre earlier than expected.â
âGot things done faster than I thought. Donât know why people start fights if theyâre just gonna grovel in the end.â
âWell, we did get plenty out of him, so it was worth the visit.â
âDidnât seem like I even needed to go.â
âOh no, Enoch, sir â it went smoothly because you came along. If weak little me had gone alone, who knows what couldâve happened? Anyway, I warned him this was his last chance. Next time, no mercy. By the wayâŠâ
Jerel, the man with slicked-back damp hair, stopped mid-sentence when he spotted the woman slumped over the counter. His golden eyes narrowed.
âWhatâs that supposed to be?â
Behind him, Enoch, removing his wet coat, followed his gaze.
Andel quickly explained, âJust a normal customer.â
Unfortunately, the ânormal customerâ had passed out right next to Enochâs usual seat.
He frowned â even he, known for his drinking skills, wrinkled his nose at the strong smell of alcohol.
And the fact that Andel had called her ânormalâ? That meant she wasnât a client.
As Enoch studied her silently, whispers rose from the other tables.
âBoss! That ladyâ she got dumped by her fiancĂ©. Poor thing, maybe let her be, yeah?â
âYeah, apparently the guy was trash. Real scumbag.â
âShe reminded me of my sister back home⊠she suffered because of some jerk, too.â
âYou killed that jerk, though, didnât you?â
âSure, but killing someone doesnât heal a broken heart or wasted years, yâknow?â
ââŠYeah, thatâs true.â
Enoch gave them a weird look â why the hell are they getting emotional? â then looked away.
Andel chuckled awkwardly.
âShe just wandered in to get out of the rain. Probably doesnât even know what kind of place this is. Once she sobers up, Iâll quietly send her on her way.â
Enochâs eyes stayed cold.
âI doubt it was an accident. This place isnât exactly easy to find⊠and times are dangerous lately. Seems suspicious. Iâll take care of her myself.â
And before Andel could say anything, Jerel interruptedâ
âQuietly, huh? Funny, we both mean that, but somehow I think your version of âquietâ is very different from mine.â
