Chapter 11
 Kanzaki Wonders About My Type
I didnât understand why Kanzaki was asking such things with such sharp eyes.
Even if Yuiduka had said those things to me, it shouldnât have been Kanzakiâs concern.
ââŠâŠâ
No, that wasnât it. Kanzaki wasnât asking because she wanted to know the specific details of Yuiduka wanting to do âthatâ with meâshe was concerned that I was keeping something from her.
As a friend, Kanzaki had said she would help me somehow resolve the situation with Yuiduka wanting to marry me, yet I was hiding things from her. That would betray her kindness as a friend.
âŠIn that case, thereâs no reason to hide anything.
âSorry⊠I didnât talk about it because I thought it wasnât relevant, but actually, Iâve already heard that Yuiduka is okay with doing that kind of thing with me.â
ââŠ! I seeâŠâ
Kanzaki widened her eyes and let out a sigh.
ââŠFirst, you said you didnât mention it because you thought it wasnât related, but whether youâd be willing to allow that kind of thing is very important information for resolving this situation in the future. So from now on, donât decide on your own whether itâs relevant. If thereâs anything that could show Yuidukaâs thoughts or how much she likes you, tell me everything without hiding anything.â
âUnderstood.â
When I answered honestly, Kanzaki looked away for a moment, then met my eyes again and said:
âThereâs one more thing⊠Do you want to do that kind of thing with Yuiduka?â
ââŠHuh!? Of course not! Sure, Yuidukaâs appearance is my type, but I could never want to do that with my little sisterââ
âYour typeâŠ?â
âAh, damn.
I had panicked and said something unnecessary when asked something I didnât quite understand.
Kanzaki, however, pressed on with her question.
âIs Yuiduka your type?â
At that question, I considered hiding the truth on the spot. But I had just promised to tell her everything without hiding anything. From now on, I wanted to hide as little as possible, so I decided to be honest.
âYes⊠But itâs only her appearance thatâs my type. I really do think of her as my sister, and I havenât felt anything weirdâplease believe me on that.â
I looked Kanzaki straight in the eyes as I said this, and she sighed more heavily than before.
âTo be honest, the fact that your little sisterâs appearance is your type was a bit off-putting at first, but itâs true that you really think of her as your sister, huh?â
âYeah⊠But the tricky part is that sheâs my stepsister. I, of course, treat her properly as a sister and intend to continue doing so, but she isnât my real sister. Sheâs a stepsisterâand yet she wants to marry me.â
âIf her appearance is your type and, conveniently, sheâs a stepsister, you might almost be tempted, huh?â
âThat would never happen, but itâs terrifying⊠And itâs not just her appearanceâher personality is great too. If she didnât want to marry me, sheâd just be a bright, kind, fun-to-be-with sister.â
âThat really is⊠troublesome, huh.â
Kanzaki seemed to ponder for a moment before speaking again.
âHey, do you have any photos of Yuiduka?â
ââŠPhotos of Yuiduka?â
âYeah.â
âWhy do you want to see a photo of her?â
âBecause sheâs your type, right? Iâm curious what kind of girl your type is, purely out of interest.â
âTh-Thereâs no way Iâm showing them for that reason!â
If I did, sheâd definitely laugh and say something like, âOh, so this is your type.â
âCome on.â
âNo way.â
I couldnât just show Yuidukaâs photos⊠but then I thought:
âIf you really want to see them, then tell me your type too.â
âHuh⊠my type?â
âYes.â
That would make it a fair exchangeâat least thatâs what I thought. But for some reason, Kanzaki suddenly looked at me, blushed, stood up, and spoke in a slightly high-pitched voice:
âS-Sorry, homeroom is about to start, so letâs forget this conversation!â
Saying that, she returned to her seat.
âŠI didnât understand why she had panicked like that, but since she told me to forget, I decided to just let it go for now.
