Chapter 6
The sound of the slap echoed through the room, and everything froze.
“…Do you have any idea how many times you’ve cheated on me, and how many times I turned a blind eye?”
“How many times I’ve seen you with someone else—doing those things—and how I felt each time?”
“Why… why did I keep forgiving you, even then…?”
The more I spoke, the more I felt my heart being torn apart.
Yuu just stood there, listening silently.
“You said it yourself, didn’t you? That this house was ours. That you’d never let anyone else in.”
“…I’m sorry.”
Yuu only apologized. He didn’t try to explain anything.
“Don’t apologize. It’s too late.”
The words came out weakly, like all the strength had drained from me.
Everything was too late.
The sadness, the pain—everything had been worn down, broken, and gone.
After all, I couldn’t even cry anymore—except when I laughed.
“…Let’s end this.”
